Monologue is slow, stuck, or closes unexpectedly
Recover from performance and crash problems and collect useful evidence.
Recover first
- Finish or save any active Voice Note if the app still responds.
- Quit and reopen Monologue. On iPhone or iPad, reopen the main app before using the keyboard again.
- Install the latest available Monologue version and operating-system update.
- Restart the device if the problem returns immediately.
- Reproduce the issue once with a short dictation in TextEdit on Mac or Notes on iPhone and iPad.
If only one app, microphone, mode, or language triggers the problem, include that detail in your report. Do not repeatedly reproduce a crash if it risks an unsaved Voice Note.
Check updates, the network, and logs
On Mac, open Settings → Help & support. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Help Center. Check for an update and run the connection check. On Mac, you can also select Share logs if support asks for them.
For a dictation-quality problem, use 👎 on the exact dictation. For a Voice Note problem, use Report inside the affected note. These actions attach the affected item to the report.
When you contact support, include the device, app version, operating-system version, approximate time and timezone, what you were doing, and whether the problem happens again after reopening the app.
