Set up the Monologue keyboard

Enable the keyboard, grant Full Access, and choose how typing behaves.

Monologue works as a custom keyboard, so you can dictate into the text field in front of you.

Enable the keyboard

1. Open the Monologue app and finish setup.
2. Open iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards.
3. Tap Add New Keyboard, then choose Monologue.
4. Tap Monologue in the keyboard list and turn on Allow Full Access.

Full Access is required for Monologue to process dictation from inside another app. iOS displays its standard third-party keyboard warning when you enable it.

Dictate in another app

1. Tap a text field.
2. Touch and hold the globe key, then choose Monologue.
3. Tap the microphone and speak.
4. Stop the recording to insert the finished text.

Some secure fields, including password fields, switch back to an Apple keyboard. This is controlled by iOS.

Change keyboard behavior

Open Monologue → Settings → Keyboard to control:

• Character previews, key sounds, and haptics.
• Auto-capitalization, autocorrect, suggestions, and on-device predictions.
• Caps Lock and the double-space period shortcut.
• The appearance of the Monologue key.
