Does Monologue store dictation audio or transcripts?
Monologue does not save audio or transcripts from Dictation on its servers. Deep Context screenshots are deleted immediately after processing. Dictation is different from a saved Note: if you choose to record a Note, Monologue stores that recording and its derived content in your account so you can return to it later.
What information is stored when I record a Note?
When you record a Note, Monologue stores the Note’s audio, transcript, and summary in your account so they can sync across your devices. Saved Notes can also be accessed through Monologue’s MCP, API, and CLI tools. Custom modes and dictionaries sync across your devices as well.
Do Monologue’s AI providers retain or train on my dictation?
Monologue’s AI providers process Dictation with zero data retention, so your dictation is not retained for model training. Deep Context screenshots are also deleted immediately after processing. Saved Notes are different: Monologue stores them in your account so they can sync across devices and remain available to you.
